We offer a high end Glamping experience which can be an escape from the day-to-day stresses. We offer couples a romantic & perfect private location on a working farm.

Set on a working farm on the beautiful East Yorkshire Wolds, our luxurious shepherd’s hut is the answer for those who want the camping experience, without the inconvenience associated with tents. Our Shepherd’s hut is warm, spacious and furnished to an extremely high standard, with a double bed, (which tucks away into a comfortable sofa); table and chairs; a bespoke handcrafted kitchen area with sink, kettle, toaster, and fridge. Fans of Emma Bridgewater will also be delighted to find the hut stacked with her crockery to use and enjoy. For the ultimate in decadence, relax in your very own hot tub by day or beneath the stars at night, whilst enjoying the complimentary bottle of bubbly you will find waiting for you. There are numerous traditional and high end dining establishments within a short drive, but why not just pop outside, relax and have a barbecue or toast marshmallows over the fire pit. Continental breakfast is provided, but can be upgraded to ‘Full Yorkshire’ for a small additional charge. The eggs for breakfast are provided fresh daily, courtesy of our own flock of free range chickens. Just metres away from the Shepherd’s hut, you’ll find the luxury shower and toilet cabin (2 shepherds huts are now en suite) stocked with complimentary toiletries and towels. The newly built Lambing Shed offers a communal area for Glampers to relax in the snug area by the log burner, there is a full kitchen with large range oven, extra fridges and tumble dryer, outside you will find a hand built pizza over. If you book all 3huts with friends you have the whole area to yourselves which is proving popular for Birthdays. The farm is situated just ½ mile from the picturesque village of Burton Fleming where you’ll find a pub, post office and general store. We can also arrange for you to have a barbeque pack ready and waiting for you in the fridge. There are bus links in the village to the nearby coastal attractions of Bridlington (7 miles), Filey (7 miles), Scarborough (12 miles) and Whitby (33 miles). The stunning East Yorkshire Wolds with its award winning walks, softly undulating chalk uplands and time forgotten villages, make it one of the UK’s rambling hot spots and cyclists also appreciate the gentle hills, so there’s plenty to explore, if you can be parted from the hot tub!! The port of Hull is just 34 miles away, so it is an ideal stop or base for walking or cycling enthusiasts visiting from the continent. For those wishing to explore slightly further afield, the mediaeval city of York is just 37 miles away or the shopping centre of Yorkshire, Leeds, is 60 miles, but a grand day out. All in all, West Hale Gate Glamping is the perfect location for a relaxing holiday or romantic getaway for two!

 The Swaledale
We are proud to present the latest member of our ‘flock’, the Swaledale, our first fully en suite shepherd’s hut.
Whilst we pride ourselves on already providing all luxury accommodation, the Swaledale takes luxury Glamping to a new level. Designed and made by local master craftsman, Albert Thundercliffe, it is a work of art, as well as a fabulous place to stay, packed with character and charm both inside and out.

The Swaledale has a hand crafted double bed and en suite shower room with heated towel rail, fluffy towels and robes and that’s just where the luxury starts. Step outside of your shepherd's hut onto the beautiful handmade decked veranda and watch the stars come out, whilst unwinding in your very own hot tub. Natural hazel fencing ensures your complete privacy, but does not interfere with the uninterrupted views of the beautiful rolling Yorkshire Wolds.

As with all our huts, Swaledale has a bespoke handcrafted kitchen containing kettle, toaster, sink and fridge, and a dining and comfortable seating area. It is stocked with Emma Bridgewater crockery, tea, coffee, milk etc and topped off with a complimentary bottle of fizz and a homemade cake for that much needed cup of tea after your journey.

We can’t guarantee the weather, but hopefully you will be able to enjoy the great outdoors and take advantage of the additional table and chairs, gas BBQ and fire pit and a giant swing in which to soak up some sunshine and relax.
