Stunning converted barn located just a 10 minute drive from Betws y Coed. A beautiful peaceful retreat at the heart of the Snowdonia National Park.
Located on the slopes of a secluded Welsh valley, Moel yr Iwrch cottages offer the perfect place to relax, unwind and hide away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Wake up to the chorus of birdsong, bleating lambs and leaves rustling in the breeze - that unique countryside melody that's so good for our souls. Breathe in some fresh Welsh air, stroll for miles from your door, sit back and relax by the wood burning stove - rural bliss at it's best. Step outside your door at night and gaze at the amazing display of stars in the dark sky, unspoilt by any light pollution.
Whether you're looking to make the most of what Snowdonia and North Wales has to offer, or just want somewhere cosy to hole up in for a few days, look no further than this welcoming cottage. The cottage is located on our family farm, close to our own farmhouse, which means we are on hand to welcome our guests and to offer help and advice if necessary.
There is ample opportunity to meet our animals - cats, dogs, chickens, sheep and not forgetting the newborn lambs at Easter which are always a big hit. For a truly cultural experience, spend some time sitting outside your cottage and you're bound to hear some of the sing-song notes of our beautiful Welsh Language (even if it's a few choice words directed at the sheep dog!). Welsh is our family's first language and it's widely spoken in this part of Snowdonia - we'll teach you a phrase or two to impress your friends when you get home.
Perfectly located at the heart of Snowdonia National Park, with its ever increasing number of exiting attractions, this lovely cottage offers you the ideal base from which to explore the area. Where else can you spend a morning up in the mountains and enjoy an evening watching the sun go down on the beach? For the adrenaline junkies amongst us the area is fast becoming a Mecca - Zip World, Tree Tops Adventure, Bounce Below, Whitewater Rafting, Surf Snowdonia - the list is endless - all within a 30 minute drive from Stabal Iwrch.
The cottage is fitted to a very high standard and stylishly combines modern conveniences such as under floor heating, power showers, wi-fi and flat screen TV's, with more traditional features like the original oak beams and slate flagstone floors. Stabal Iwrch was formerly the stable & coach house to the farm. It has been sympathetically converted into a two storey cottage, making use of the traditional features such as the stone archway framing the large patio doors in the traditional kitchen.
Eco friendly credentials abound - the underfloor heating in all three onsite cottages is powered by a ground source heat pump, which in turn is driven by hydro electricity generated by the river running at the bottom of our land. The eco vibe continues with the complimentary eco friendly products - from luxury hand soap to dishwasher tablets - none of them costing the earth!
Warm, cosy, slightly quirky but at the same time offering all the mod cons you'd expect. Take a look at our website for full details of all our cottages.
