Child-friendly, award-winning farm cottages in rural Cornwall. Enjoy the hot tub, iPod docks and free WiFi in one of eight sumptuous holiday cottages, with activities for all.

Tredethick draws families back year after year. Designed for families, no matter the weather, guest ages or personalities, indoors or out, there's always plenty to keep everyone happy and occupied. From animals to feed, ponies to ride, places to play, a warm indoor pool to discover, new places and new friends to see and make, all in beautiful, secluded, Cornish countryside. It is place to relax and enjoy time together.

All eight country/contemporary-style cottages are within a minute’s walk of the family-friendly indoor pool, soft play (with daily newspapers and Lavazza coffee for the grown ups), play park and games room with huge sandpit, table tennis and pool table. Little ones can use mini-tractors, scooters or balance bikes to scoot around the farm. There’s a luxurious hot tub garden for parents seeking peace and an idyllic farm trail threading through woodland and fields to the Fowey river estuary.

For little ones, animal feeding is usually the highlight of the day. Lifelong memories are made with lambs to bottle feed, ponies to ride, eggs to collect, goats to stroke and pigs, alpacas, rabbits and more. Our eight beautiful, high-end cottages are designed and equipped to be as baby and toddler friendly as possible and we can provide you with plenty of extra kit to save you having to lug it with you.

Six of our eight family cottages don’t have stairs and where there are stairs we have stairgates. We can also provide you with plenty of baby and toddler-friendly equipment to make your stay as stress-free as possible including high-quality wooden cots, travel cots, bed guards, black-out blinds, highchairs, plastic bowls and plates, child-friendly cutlery, booster seats, frozen toddler-friendly meals in farm shop, microwave bottle sterilisers, step-ups in bathrooms and night lights. Lift the latch on any front door and you'll find a wonderfully inviting space. Squashy sofas, comfortable beds, a powerful shower and relaxing bathtub. There are fluffy white bathrobes – great for impromptu trips to the hot tub, iPod docks and free WiFi.

Most of the cottages have log fires, and all are centrally heated, so families can be nice and toasty when arriving home from a walk or a dip in the pool. All the cottages have pretty terraces and barbecues. For those who don't feel like cooking, and who does on their holidays, there's a brilliant 24hr farm shop, which runs on an honesty-box system, and is stocked yummy treats such as organic Cornish ice cream, ice lollies, apple juice, jams and honey, as well as COOK luxury ready meals. There’s a well-stocked DVD library in the farm shop too.

The front door opens onto a large airy living area whose sink-into-me sofas make you feel instantly at home and relaxed.

It’s a wonderfully sunny cottage too. From the living area, a wide doorway leads you directly out onto the courtyard – a perfect spot to soak up the rays over a lazy alfresco breakfast.

Back inside the living room, look up and you can see the open galleried loft bedroom. With a single bed it makes a brilliant child’s bedroom and secret hideaway (probably best for a child of at least ten).

There’s a lovely double bedroom plus a bathroom with a bath and separate power shower.

There’s an open-plan kitchen/living area, with a high-beamed ceiling, which gets flooded with sunshine in the mornings. It’s a great place to start the day – sitting around the kitchen table tucking into freshly laid eggs from our very contented chickens.

A wide hallway leads to a spacious double bedroom with a 5ft light oak bed; a large twin bedroom and a generous bathroom with a bath and a separate power shower.

From the hallway you can step out into the central courtyard; the garden area catches the sun for most of the day and is a wonderfully safe place for children to toddle or scamper about.

Open the stair gate and head down the stairs to the double bedroom, complete with en-suite shower, washbasin and toilet; and to the two twin bedrooms, shower room and bathroom.

From one of the twin rooms, you can step straight out into the sunny courtyard garden – a great spot for an early morning cuppa or a sneaky sundowner. The deck area at the front of the cottage is another suntrap with fabulous views.

The spacious kitchen, with its granite worktops, indigo blue tiles and welcoming table is warm and inviting – just the place to cook up a hearty supper or sit and scoff a cream tea.

Come evening, you can relax in front of the wood-burning stove in the big inglenook fireplace, glass of wine in hand.

Downstairs, you’ve got a double bedroom – with a 5ft iron and brass bed – and a spacious en-suite with a separate shower plus a Victorian roll-top bath that cries out for a chin-deep soak.

There’s another bathroom, with a shower over the bath and two beautifully decorated twin bedrooms. The sunny courtyard garden is reached via a door from the double room.

From here, French windows open out onto the courtyard, which catches the sun on summer evenings, making it a great place for a barbecue. (Just grab some sausages from the farm shop, and you’re away.)

You’ve got a huge double bedroom – once home to the farm’s bull during winter. There’s a twin room (whose beds, incidentally, can’t be pushed together) and a galleried, low-ceilinged loft bedroom. The loft room, which has a single bed, is reached by a ladder from the living area, making it best for kids of ten and up. (It does make a fabulous hideaway though!)

The newly revamped bathroom has a separate power shower and a generous sized bathtub.

The hallway leads into a recently re-vamped open-plan kitchen/living area with exposed beams and a large stone fireplace. There’s a big comfy sofa and armchair set around a wood-burning stove (there’s central heating if you don’t do logs) – a great spot from which to watch the hens and goats in the orchard.

There’s a well equipped kitchen too. Gather the family around the welcoming kitchen table and tuck into a Cornish cream tea or boiled eggs gathered from our happy hens.

In the cosy double bedroom sleep will come easily when you’re snuggled up in the 5ft brass bed. There’s also a twin bedroom and a bathroom with a separate bath and power shower.

The open-plan kitchen/living area is light and bright and overlooks the orchard with its ancient apple trees and shamelessly stylish hen house. There’s a big stone fireplace with a wood-burning stove which, come evening, makes cuddling up on the sofa with a glass of wine hard to resist.

On gorgeously sunny days, you can always sit outside and have lunch – or even breakfast.

There’s a light and airy double bedroom with a 5ft brass bed plus another bedroom that can be used as a single or a cosy twin. In the bathroom, you’ve got a separate bath as well as a power shower.
