Helme Pasture was a typical Dales hillside farm now mainly consisting of award winning conservation woodland. While no longer a working farm, the farmhouse has been renovated for the existing family and has one cottage for holiday guests, as well as the Scandinavian lodges. There is extensive woodland, managed with the help of Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty volunteers. The woodland contains surface remains of hut circles and enclosures. There are signs of charcoal burning, coppicing and various rural industries. It is now left to nature and for the woodland animals and birds to enjoy. If you are quiet, you may see deer crossing your path as you wander through the woods.
Pets are welcome by arrangement, and there is a fenced-in croft area for dogs to enjoy and many paths of woodland walks to explore.
The accomodation is equipped with all creature comforts. A barbecue area and laundry service is available. There are extensive woodland tracks and magnificent views. Ideally situated for easy access to Harrogate, York, the Dales, the coast and Herriot Country. Warm personal welcome.
The area around Helme Pasture is very popular with cyclists - eg Tour de France 2014 and Tour de Yorkshire in 2016, and a lockable under lodge storage area can store 10+ bikes with multiple shackle points for security.
Accommodation available for weeks or short breaks, normally from Mondays and Fridays.
