Welcome to Burlton Cottages. Stylishly well-appointed, characterful and intimate; three recently-converted holiday cottages on a family-run 500 acre private arable farm in the heart of the North Shropshire countryside, just 15-minutes from the beautiful medieval county town of Shrewsbury. From the moment you’re first welcomed with complimentary home-made cake, Burlton Cottages offer idyllic, unspoilt escapism - a perfect rural retreat. Open all year (arrive and leave on dates of your choice), bring the kids (cots, high chair and games available) and bring the dog (enjoy stunning country walks right from the door, with abundant wildlife every step of the way).

We now have a newly built Indoor Swimming Pool and Spa facility just a few steps from the cottages.  The Spa includes a 12 metre swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, treatment room and gym which is complimentary to use for all of our guests at Burlton Cottages.  There are poolside loungers, complimentary drink facilities and wonderful hot showers.  Pool towels, robes and slippers are provided for each guest.

Flexible changeover days, short and long stays. Super-king sized beds (can be twin bedded) with luxury 100% cotton linen, made up for your arrival and soft and of course fluffy bath sheets.

Modern, light extremely comfortable cottages with all mod-cons. Homemade cake, tea, coffee, milk waiting for your arrival. On-site owners Gerry and Rachel; available to ensure you have a relaxing stay. Walking distance to a friendly country pub which serves homemade food and allows dogs.

Dogs welcome in The Stable and The Courtyard. A dog hamper is provided including Dog Walk books, towels, throws and bowls. The Granary is pet free and wooden/tiled floors throughout. Surrounded by 500 acres of arable farmland, which you are welcome to explore. 120 acres from your cottage door without crossing a road! Ample safe off-road parking. Secure, superfast, complimentary Wi-Fi.

There are plenty of places to explore with ten National Trust properties within a 45 minute drive.  The nine glacial meres that make up the "Shropshire Lake District" are just a short drive away.  Ironbridge, Pontcysllte Aqueduct and the 3500miles of footpaths in Shropshire ensure there is plenty to  see and do.

  • Shropshire Breakfast Hamper

    A specially selected Shropshire breakfast hamper for two people. To ease your get away experience, arrive to delicious locally produced goods .... Clun Valley Sausages and Bacon, Burlton Free range Eggs, Pimhill Organic Muesli (produced 4 miles away), British butter and milk (naturally), Petton Jam (made by a local lady 2 miles away) and Chatwins bread (from over the border in Cheshire, but worth it!). The majority I purchase from our local village shop in Myddle - so your not only getting a delicious nutritious breakfast but you're supporting local too!

  • Dogs

    We are happy for you to bring your dog to accompany you whilst staying in The Courtyard and The Stable, however it is under the strict understanding that you adhere to our Dog Policy, relating to the acceptance of dogs in our properties.

  • Homemade Frozen Supper Meals

    We have available to buy some delicious ready supper meals using the best locally sourced ingredients from Shropshire. We keep them frozen ready for you to buy either before you arrive so they are in your cottage on arrival or whilst you are staying with us, just call at the farmhouse or text me during your stay. Lasagne, Cottage Pie and Lamb Hotpot are all available for £14 each and come with a small bag of frozen peas. They are a hearty meal for two, or would feed 2 adults and 2 small children. Cooking instructions are supplied, they are microwaveable.

Four Star Gold Awarded two bedroom cottage suitable for a family.  The cottage has two super-king sized beds or is available with twin-bedded rooms.  Both bedrooms have exposed beams and wardrobe space.  There is a family bathroom with a bath with shower over it. 

The cottage has a glazed, contemporary frontage; sit and relax in a large open-plan living area or in the outside seating area.  The kitchen has all the modern appliances.  with a larder storage.

This cottage is dog friendly and is all situated on the ground floor.

Sleeping two this luxurious, light spacious cottage with enclosed, private lawned garden with outdoor seating area is perfect for a rural getaway.  The cottage has a large open plan living space, the bedroom has a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom and is all situated on the ground floor.

The Stable exudes character and is situated on our 500 acre arable farm that you are warmly welcome to explore.  The village pub is within walking distance, there are many National Trust properties to explore locally and of course the beautiful medieval town of Shrewsbury is just a 20 minute drive away.

 A beautiful, 19th-century south daing window allows light to stream into the open-plan living area of this one bedroomed cottage.  The open beams exude character; the wooden floor thoughout the living area and comfy sofas creates a homely base to explore Shropshire. 

The bedroom has a Super king sized bed (or can be made as a twin bedded room) with en-suite bathroom (bath with shower over).

Sorry, no dogs allowed as this cottage is strictly kept as pet-free.  There are steps leading up to The Granary so it is unsuitable for people with walking disabilities.

Arriving from Ellesmere or Shrewsbury on the A528, once you have arrived into Burlton take the B4397 turning to Loppington/Wem. Drive for 50 metres and once you reach the big left hand bend, turn right and then immediately left into Charity Farm entrance.
