 Visiting Penlee House

VISITOR FACILITIES
As well as the exhibitions and displays, Penlee House offers a full range of facilities for visitors.

The Orangery Cafe has a delightful sun-bathed terrace overlooking the park and offers a range of coffees, afternoon tea with home-baked cakes and freshly prepared light lunches, using the best of local produce. It is also licenced, offering a select range of wines, beers and ciders.

Our shop is stocked with a wide range of prints, books, gifts and souvenirs (mail order service available).

Penlee Park, which surrounds our building, contains dramatic sub-tropical plants and beautiful mature trees, with the tranquil Memorial Garden and charming Sensory Garden offering places for quiet enjoyment. For the younger visitors, the park also offers the ideal place to let off steam, with an excellent children's play area.

For wheelchair users and pushchairs, there is level, ramped or lift access to all areas and an adapted toilet with baby changing facilities.

Tours and group visits are warmly welcomed. A free introductory talk is provided on request and a full guided tour can usually be arranged for an additional charge. Please note, however, that prior booking is essential for all groups and the maximum group size is 25. Please visit our 'Group Bookings' page for further details.

Dogs: we love dogs and they are welcome (on leads) within the park, but unfortunately, they are not allowed within the building. A water bowl is provided on the terrace outside the cafe, and there are places to tether leads outside the front door. The Penlee House car park is bordered on several sides by trees and buildings, so it should be possible to find some shaded parking bays.
