Walk a Country Mile this National Countryside Week in support of
The Prince’s Countryside Fund
(14th – 20th July 2014)
This week has seen the launch of The Prince’s Countryside Fund’s ‘Walk a Country Mile’ campaign in celebration of National Countryside Week 2014 (14-20 July 2014).
If you didn't know about it there's still time to take part this weekend as there are lots of great events going on.
What is it all about?
The Princes Countryside Fund is asking individuals, groups and pretty much anyone who wants to take part to walk a country mile in support of all that's brilliant about our very own British countryside. It's also a way to support the people who live and work in rural areas.
Do you have to walk an actual mile?
No you don't! You can walk your very own countryside mile however long or short that might be, making this event perfect for young and old to take part.
Are there any walks or events near me I can join?
Yes! There are lots of people supporting this event and therefore you can take your pick from specially designed walks, events and activities that are taking place this weekend. All over the UK you can find lots of exciting things going on so you don't necessarily have to travel miles and miles to find something.
By getting involved you are showing your support for rural communities everywhere but you are also getting out and enjoying something that's on your doorstep! Oh and it's probably a good excuse to get fit for summer.
