As winter takes hold and we resolve to wear our new woollen hiking socks, snuggle up under a blanket, get to grips with knitting or slow cook our way into deep comfort, it’s time to start thinking about the next school holiday or excuse for a romantic break. In celebration of ‘Hygge’ and the fact that a farm stay provides Danish style cosiness in spades, Farm Stay UK have unveiled a selection of couple and family ‘Hygge’ hideaways for February half term (11-18 February) and Valentine’s Day. Scandi-chic Oast House on working sheep farm - Hare Farm Oast, Rye, East Sussex
Hole up for half term at this beautifully converted three kiln Oast House, sitting at the heart of a 500 acre working sheep farm in rural Sussex. Ideal for larger families (sleeping up to 12), this impressive conversion expertly blends contemporary interiors with authentic relics from the building’s past- traditionally used to dry and store hops. Exposed brickwork, slate floors, a white Scandi-chic kitchen and cosy wood burner in the lounge sit alongside original hop pockets and hoists.
