Scotland with Style
Venture just a short distance beyond Glasgow and discover a world of stunning landscapes and a fascinating history. Dominated by the River Clyde Valley, the countryside around the city provides a haven for wildlife, beautiful walking, varied cycle routes and even two World Heritage Sites. A great way to explore is to follow the 42 mile scenic Clyde Valley Tourist Route taking in the lush landscapes and magnificent estates on the Firth of Clyde. Follow the Forth & Clyde canal to reach the amazing engineering feat of the Falkirk Wheel.
The New Lanark World Heritage Site has been beautifully restored, the 18th century cotton mills is set in a spectacular valley close by the Falls of Clyde. In East Dumbartonshire you can visit the Antonine Wall - also a World Heritage Site, which follows the Forth & Clyde canal through to the Falkirk Wheel. The wall marks the northernmost point of Roman conquest in Britain.
Getting to Greater Glasgow and the Clyde Valley is easy, thanks to one of the best public transport networks in the UK and direct access from major centres around the world. Whether you travel by road, rail, air or sea travelling to the area or getting around when you are here is simple.
