Dartmoor, an enchanting landscape, designated dark sky area and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  Incorporate the best of all worlds by booking a holiday or short break in a Cornish Farm Stay B&B on the Cornwall/Devon border where you can stay in stunning countryside locations but be within a half hours drive of some of the most stunning landscapes Britain has to offer.
On the edge of Dartmoor and just over the River Tamar is Tavistock, a great little market town that never fails to disappoint.  Explore quirky little villages like Widecombe, famous for Widecombe Fair held every Autumn and Princetown, much of which is owned by the Duchy of Cornwall and made famous by it's prison; or walk the Granite Tors known for the Duke of Edinburghs award scheme - climb to the top to see some breathtaking views as far as the eye can see.

Stop for a cream tea at Post bridge or Two Bridges.  Walk or cycle in one of the many forests Dartmoor has to offer or walk Burrator reservoir that feeds Plymouth with its water supply, including a natural supply used in the making of the world famous Plymouth Gin.

Get up close and friendly with Dartmoor Ponies, Sheep and Cattle for whom the upland is known as home.  The moorland is great for all ages and abilities with hardcore tracks and roads in places as well as rough terrain and vast open spaces for children to play in.

Just over the Tamar into Cornwall is the Tamar Valley, another area of outstanding natural beauty with plenty to see and enjoy.
