Todsworthy Farm Cottages are located on a small family run beef farm in the beautiful Tamar Valley. We are a small working farm and it is home to our small herd of homebred Limousin pedigree cattle. The farm supports a small suckler herd of roughly 30 cows and their calves. The farm is also home to other livestock including pigs, free range chickens and friendly farm dogs and cats!
We pride ourselves with our home reared farm produce and our fresh eggs and delicious sausages make a tasty addition to a hearty breakfast!
The cottages are converted farm buildings from the 18th centurary with a lot of the original features still intact. They are spacious and have been tastefully decorated. Both of our cottages sleep up to 6 guests and are suitable for both couples or the larger family. They are both especially adapted for wheelchair users and their families. Both cottages have a downstairs bedroom with an ensuite wetroom. They have been awarded with an M3 accessibilty grading.
The cottages are set in their own grounds with parking available directly outside. There is a small patio and garden with outside furniture which provides the perfect place to sit and relax on a sunny afternoon. There is also a good sized lawned area to one side of the sweeping drive and the 5 bar gates at the top of the drive can be closed providing a safe enclosed area for children to play and dogs to exercise.
Todsworthy Farm cottages are positioned in a superb rural location in an area of outstanding natural beauty. They provide the perfect base for those guests wanting to tour both Devon and Cornwall.
The historic town of Tavistock is only 5 miles away with the stunning scenary of Dartmoor National Park a short distance away. We are quarter of a mile from the little branchline railway station of Gunnislake which supports a very scenic train that runs to Plymouth and back several times a day. Here many days can be spent exploring the interesting maritime city.
Beautiful wooded footpaths lead directly from the farm and lead throungh the AONB area that we live. Cothele, a National Trust property is within walking distance from the farm. The North and South coast beaches are all less than an hour away with the closest dog friendly beach, Seaton only 20 minutes away. The pretty fishing and seaside town of Looe is about half an hour away and is always a popular place to visit.
