Wild Rose(sleeps 5 ) and Owl Cottage(sleeps 6), two holiday cottages, situated on a working farm, 4miles south of Jedburgh, in the Scottish Borders. Enjoy walks on the farm and spot the wildlife and birds too.

Bairnkine Cottages in Scotland are situated on a working farm nestling below the Cheviots, south of Jedburgh with spectacular views over countryside. Home baking on arrival. WIFI included.
Matt and Lucy farm at the Bairnkine, along with Holly too. They encourage visitors to explore the farm and ask questions about what is happening. Please ask if you would like to see the cattle or sheep! You can even feed the cattle with Lucy if the cattle are in the shed - guests love it! At lambing time end of April through May you can cuddle a lamb too. We are now offering Trailer Farm Tours too. Go to our website to book.

Nestled on an organic working farm at the foot of the Cheviots are Wild Rose and Owl Cottage. Once part of the farm these cottages have been refurbished to be tranquil, dog friendly(Owl Cottage), holiday homes to escape to. Choose from Wild Rose ( sleeps 5 in 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom) or Owl Cottages (sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 shower room). 

Both are gorgeous with their own personalities.  They both have wifi, TVs, central heating for cosy winter nights, wood burning stoves and stunning views across open farmland. 

They are located on the farm and Lucy and Matt your hosts are happy to share tales of farming life with you. On the farm itself you can enjoy five walks specially created so you can spot wildlife, enjoy the open countryside and visit the wildlife ponds.  Lucy and Matt also offer dark sky experiences, where they will drive you deep into the farm, set up some chairs, blankets and bring a flask and let you explore the wonders of really dark skies.

Nearby the cottages is the wonderful historic market town of Jedburgh with its famous Abbey and Jail. Further into the Borders are many historic castles, houses, abbeys to visit and places learn about the fascinating history of the Borderlands. The cottages are also brilliantly placed for heading south to the Roman town of  Corbridge, and Hadrien's Wall. Corbridge is now a quirky, arty town full of great shops and places to eat. Alnwick Castle and Cragside are just over the border too and well worth a visit.

The cottage has oil fired central heating and wood burning stove. 

With views over the open countryside towards The Cheviots Wild Rose is a great place to stay.

The garden birds love the hedges around the garden - you'll see plenty of activity. The blue tits may even be using the nest boxes!

The cottage has Wifi too.

The second bedroom can be made up as a kingsize and single or three singles.

Owl Cottage offers three bedrooms with bathroom and shower room and a games room! Lots of friends and family tournaments have taken place over the years and guests keep coming back for more!

On the ground floor is sitting room, kitchen/breakfast room, shower room and games room. First floor has three bedrooms and bathroom.

Wood stove in sitting room as well as central heating. There is always plenty of wood.

We can provide a cot and high chair if required too.

Travel south on the A68 from Jedburgh for approximately 3 miles. Take the turning on the right signposted to Chesters. Travel up this road and Wild Rose and Owl Cottage are along on the right hand side, just after the farmdrive.
