Setting & Location

A beautifully renovated Grade II Listed East Wing of a historic manor house, accommodating 4 guests. Set within 57 acres of Registered Historic Parkland (CADW/English Heritage) and surrounded by a further 150 acres managed for nature conservation. Guests have access to the full 200 acres.

Only 2 miles from Coed Llandegla Mountain Bike Centre, making it ideal for biking enthusiasts. Just 1 hour from Liverpool and Manchester airports, and 20 minutes from the historic towns of Llangollen and Ruthin. Chester is 18 miles away, and Llangollen is 8 miles.

Young families are particularly welcome, with cot, stair‑gates and highchair available on request.

Upstairs

  • Bathroom- double‑ended bath (taps centrally positioned), chrome mixer power shower over bath, wash basin and WC. Towels supplied.
  • Two bedrooms:

-Bedroom 1 – king‑size bed, 32" wall‑mounted flat‑screen TV.

-Bedroom 2 – two single beds (3.25m × 3.55m).

Due to the historic layout, the bedrooms are interlinked; access to the twin room is through the king‑size room.

All beds are Laura Ashley Victorian style, made up on arrival with polycotton sheets and duvet covers.

The price is inclusive of oil for heating, electricity, towels and linen (most guests like to bring their own linen for the cot) and the beds are already made up. The following are supplied within the accommodation: usual kitchen requirements; sugar, salt etc, kitchen rolls, dishwasher tablets and fluid, Towels and toilet rolls, you only need to bring food and wine.

Contract

Cancellations

Compensation will not be payable where any change or cancellation plans result from force majeure. Except where otherwise expressly stated in these Conditions, we will not be liable for any changes, cancellations, effect on your holiday, loss or damage suffered by you or for any failure by us to properly perform any of their respective obligations to you which is due to any event(s) or circumstance(s) beyond the reasonable control of us (referred to as force majeure in these Conditions). By way of example, force majeure includes fire, flood, exceptional weather conditions, pandemics, destruction or damage of the property by any cause (other than negligence of us) and all similar situations. No compensation, expenses, costs or other sums of any description (including without limitation the cost of securing an alternative property/accommodation) will be payable in such circumstances by us to you.

Weather and Snowfall

We will not be able to offer you a refund if you are unable to enter the property because of any weather condition, be it snowfall or otherwise. You are strongly advised to take out independent holiday cancellation insurance to cover you for having to cancel your holiday due to heavy snowfall or any other conditions which may affect your journey and arrival.

Illness and Bereavement

Unfortunately due to illness or bereavement we can’t cancel or change your booking; for this reason we recommend taking out holiday insurance.

Prices

We reserve the right to amend advertised prices at any time. We also reserve the right to correct errors in both advertised and confirmed prices. Note: changes and errors sometimes occur. You must check the price of your chosen arrangements at the time of booking.

Capacity

It is a booking condition that the number of people occupying the property may not exceed the advertised capacity, without prior written consent. Suppliers may terminate your booking without refund in the event you breach this condition in accordance with their terms and conditions. In some circumstances we do allow day guests for an extra fee (on request).

Candles – No naked flame candles are allowed in the venue, please use LED only.

Behaviour- We expect all our clients to have consideration for other people in the vicinity, with particular focus on noise levels after 10.00pm. If in the owner or property managers reasonable opinion, you or any member of your party behaves in such a way as to cause or be likely to cause danger, upset or distress to any third party or damage to the property, or in any way damage the reputation and/or goodwill of the Owner we are entitled, without prior notice, to terminate the occupation of the person(s) concerned. In this situation, the person(s) concerned will be required to leave the property. We will have no further responsibility toward such person(s). No refunds will be made and we will not pay any expenses or costs incurred as a result of the termination. Should we receive complaints concerning your behaviour and specifically noise, we reserve the right to permanently withhold some or all of your refundable damage charge.

External suppliers – Prior to your stay, we must be notified of contact details of any external suppliers coming onto the venue. A generator will be necessary if an electrical source is required externally.

Utility Supply – Plas yn Yale cannot accept responsibility for a shortage of water or a lack of electricity at the Accommodation where this is as a result of a drought, an act or omission of the relevant water or electricity supply company, or for any other reason outside of Ashbourne Self Catering Ltd’s reasonable control.

Insurance – Guests’ personal belongings are not covered by our insurance.

Substances – We operate a zero-tolerance policy with regards to illegal substances and so-called legal highs. If any evidence is found of substance use, we reserve the right to withhold your damage charge.

Directions to Plas yn iâl

From the South (Shrewsbury)

Take the A5 to Llangollen. At the main traffic lights in Llangollen, turn right onto the A542 signposted Ruthin / Horseshoe Pass. Continue along the High Street, cross the bridge over the River Dee, then turn left at the T‑junction (again signposted Ruthin / Horseshoe Pass).

Follow the A542 for about 7 miles, climbing the Horseshoe Pass and passing the Ponderosa Café on your right.

At the roundabout, turn left onto the A5104 (Corwen). Plas yn Iâl is the third farm on the right, approximately 1 mile from the roundabout. After passing the second farm, slow down and look for the green ‘Plas yn Iâl’ sign on the right‑hand verge (reflective at night). Turn right up the driveway through the parkland to the house.

From the North (Chester / Wrexham)

Follow the A483 and exit at Junction 4, signposted Ruthin A525. Turn right for Ruthin and continue through Coedpoeth and Bwlchgwyn (the highest village in Wales). Cross the moorland and, after passing the Plough Inn, turn left onto the A5104 (Corwen) before reaching the Crown Inn traffic lights.

Continue to the roundabout and go straight over (A5104 Corwen). Plas yn Iâl is the third farm on the right, about 1 mile from the roundabout. After passing the second farm, look for the green ‘Plas yn iâl’ sign on the verge and turn right up the driveway through the parkland.

From the West (Bala)

Take the A494 from Bala towards Corwen. Join the A5 for 1 mile, passing Rhug Farm Shop on your right. At the next traffic lights, turn left onto the A5104 (Chester).

Continue for 7 miles, passing signs for Bryneglwys. Plas yn Iâl is on the same A5104, about 2 miles beyond Bryneglwys. You will pass a farm that juts out into the road on the left; shortly afterwards, look for the green hanging ‘Plas yn Iâl’ sign in the woodland on the left and turn up the driveway.
