East Trenean Farm is set in an Area of Great Landscape Value amongst the rolling hills of Medieval Farmland. Nestled in the heart of the peaceful South East Cornwall countryside, our south facing 17th Century Farm with grade ll listed Barn Conversions and Farmhouse offers 4 Luxury Holiday Cottages. Set in 10 acres overlooking the Ancient Woodland and County Wildlife Site of Seaton Valley, with views to the sea beyond.

Our luxury holiday cottages are converted from grade ll listed stone-built barns including a water mill plus a former cow shed, the Linhay. They all offer high quality, spacious and comfortable accommodation each with a private garden with BBQ and garden furniture and own hot tub! Our 3 larger barns are ideal for families and friends to get together and the Linhay is ideal for couples looking for a bit of spacious luxury. The cottages sleep 20 plus 5 infants in total, ideal for family and friends to get together with dining space for 20 in the Corn Barn. A private chef or catering can be arranged making the farm an ideal location for groups.

Our interiors make the most of original features while being fitted with modern facilities and those little extras that make your stay a comfortable experience with a touch of luxury!

We use environmentally friendly cleaning products at East Trenean Farm and look after our gardens and land in a way as to protect wildlife. Our tap water comes from our own spring-fed borehole, which is filtered, and UV treated. So, no need to buy bottled water while here, our spring water is on tap!

Outside, our fields that are frequently grazed by sheep are great for a stroll to enjoy the views and enjoy the fresh air. We have a central courtyard garden with gazebo, which is a great place to sit and read or chat with friends and relax.

Our guest car park has EV charging points for each cottage and storage for equipment such as bikes, kayaks or fishing gear.

The farm is a peaceful rural haven with open countryside, wildlife and ‘big skies’ to enjoy. We frequently see wild rabbits, bats, hedgehogs, woodpeckers, buzzards, owls and other bird species. If you are lucky you may even see a deer!

Cornwall has so much to offer, the SW coast path and beaches at Seaton, Looe and Millendreath are only a short 3-mile drive away. We are a perfect base for touring both Cornwall and Devon, with the fishing towns of Looe, Polperro and Falmouthto explore close by and attractions such as the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Land’s End and The National Aquarium all within easy reach.

Looe, Cornwall’s second largest fishing port has an abundance of freshly caught fish on the menus of its many lovely restaurants. Fishing trips can be booked from the harbour along with boat trips along the coast. Enjoy the sandy beach or explore the narrow streets and discover the unique shops and cafes.

For those that enjoy outdoor activities, kayaks and paddle boards can be hired from Looe beach. Nearby Adrenalin Quarry has a Water Park, Gravity Park and a Racetrack. There is horse riding and trekking locally in the beautiful Cornish countryside. For cyclists there are tracks suitable for all levels nearby and trails in the Camel and Tamar Valleys. Looe Golf course is less than a mile away with spectacular views.

For walkers there is the extensive and dramatic SW Coast path with dramatic cliff top views and secluded coves to discover. Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor and their many pathways with locations that have inspired writers, are ready to explore. Bodmin Moor has been designated an International Dark Sky Landscape, an opportunity to see the wonders of the night sky.

For families we have a play area with swings, climbing frame and slide with a football goal and plenty of grass to run around or even play cricket or have a picnic! Our hens are free range and provide eggs for our welcome baskets. Our young visitors (and grown-ups) are welcome to help ‘call in’ and feed the hens each evening. There are plenty of sandy beaches to enjoy and family friendly attractions such as Dartmoor Zoo, Bodmin Steam Railway, The National Marine Aquarium, The Monkey Sanctuary and The Eden Project all close by. You can even take an Alpaca for a walk!

The farm fields are grazed by sheep, so sorry, no dogs.

Travelling by road

Using a Sat. Nav.

When using a Sat. Nav. please enter 'East Trenean Farm' as well as PL13 1QN. If using the postcode alone some devices will take you to our neighbours a few hundred yards down the road on the right and you will have gone passed us on the left! We are a marked business on Google Maps. If using the what3words app test.thinnest.passions will bring you to the front door of the Farmhouse where you can stop to be greeted and unload your car.

Directions from the North via Devon

Continue on the A38 following signs towards Plymouth, Devon and then Liskeard, Cornwall.

Cross the River Tamar Bridge (free to enter Cornwall £2 to leave!).

Continue on the A38 towards Liskeard. Shortly after passing through Tideford at the Trerulefoot Roundabout, take the first exit A374 towards LOOE.

The road twists and turns down hill and after approximately a mile turn right to Looe A387.

Continue on the A387 toward Looe.  The road now twists and turns up hill and then down into the village of Hessenford. You will pass the Copley Arms pub on the right before crossing the river and climbing up hill again toward Widegates.

You will see a signpost for our local farm shop which you will pass on your left. Follow the road as it bends sharply to the left changing into the B3253 towards LOOE. DO not turn right onto A387 to Widegates.

The entrance to East Trenean Farm is the third entrance/driveway on the left in about a ¼ mile.

Directions from the West

If coming from Truro or St Austell, follow the A390 toward Liskeard / Plymouth.

The A390 joins the A38 at the Dobwalls roundabout. Follow the A38 toward Liskeard / Plymouth.

Pass the exits for Liskeard and Callington / Tavistock (A390).

Approximately one mile past the A390 exit, there is a righthand filter, signposted to Looe B3252.  You need to get into the outside lane and then filter right before carefully crossing the opposite carriageway.

Follow the B3252 passing through Horningtops.  Pass the left hand turn signposted to Plymouth, the wind turbine on your right and then take a left turn sign posted Hessenford / Widegates.

Follow this road passing a Trenode School on the left and at the T junction turn left toward Widegates.

Pass through Widegates and at the T junction turn right toward Looe. We are then the third entrance on the left.

On arrival

Turn into the driveway between the two mill stones set into the walls and drive to the Farmhouse at the very end of the lane, passing Woodland View and East Trenean Cottages our neighbours.  Please stop outside the Farmhouse and ring the doorbell, so we can welcome you and show you to your cottage. After unloading we ask that you use the Guest Car Park.
