Welcome to our lovingly renovated hop kilns, set on a working pedigree beef farm in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside. Whether you're after a family break, or a get together with friends, this is the perfect place to slow down and soak up the peace of rural life.

Our comfortable, fully-equipped holiday home offers everything you need for a memorable stay – from a warm and welcoming interior with plenty of space, to your own private hot tub, where you can relax under the stars after a day of countryside adventures.

We’re proud to offer a dog-friendly stay and with a secure garden for zoomies, a designated dog walking orchard, endless walks right on the doorstep, and all your doggy emergency essentials provided (including treats of course!), your four legged friends are very welcome!

Admire our pedigree cattle, explore scenic farmland, or simply enjoy the views with a glass of something local. Located just a short drive from historic market towns, country pubs, and local attractions, our farm is the perfect base to experience the very best of Herefordshire. Whether you're here to walk, cycle, or just take in the slower pace of rural life, there's something for everyone.

Come and enjoy a slice of farm life – we’d love to welcome you.

*Our website is currently under construction, so in the meantime for more information and bookings, please contact us direct via the email button - thehopkilns@free-town.co.uk

**Please note this is a working farm with farm noises, smells and dangers - cattle, chickens, children, etc. Whilst we do our best to keep noise to a minimum during your stay, the farm obviously still needs tending to and I'm afraid, as much as we'd sometimes like to, we can't control the noise the cattle and chickens make!

***Whilst The Hop Kilns is very much on the farm and has views of the farm, it has its own private gated access and for your safety there is strictly no access to the farmyard and buildings.

We are a family friendly holiday home with plenty of games, books and space to keep your little ones entertained. We can provide highchairs and travel cots and even have a farm friendly (ie. dusty/muddy depending on the time of year!) pushchair available, which you are more than welcome to borrow.

We are fully accessible with ramped access and a ground floor bedroom with ensuite and extra wide doorways. A shower chair is available on request.

There are 4 fully equipped bathrooms/en-suites in The Hop Kilns, plus a downstairs wc.

The four larger bedrooms can be made up as either king or twin single beds to suit you.

Bedroom 5 is a small room attached to bedroom 4, which has a comfortable single day bed for the 9th guest. However, this can also be pulled out and made up into a king if required; although it should be noted that this does leave quite limited space and access in this room.

Bedroom 2 has a double sofa bed to accomodate 2 extra guests, and we also have a small double clic-clac sofa bed that can be put in the snug to make a 6th bedroom; this can accommodate 1 adult or 2 small children. With all beds and sofa beds utilised we can accommodate up to 13 guests. We also have 3 travel cots available for babies.

Downstairs you will find a fully equipped utility and kitchen with complimentary tea and coffee, and all the necessary condiments you should require for an enjoyable stay. There is also a lounge with seating for 9 and a smart TV. Off here you will find a cosy snug in the round kiln, which houses comfy armchairs and a further smart TV with a Wii games console.

The Hop Kilns garden and parking area is a secure space for your dogs (and children!) to safely run around and let off steam, but please ensure the gate to The Hop Kilns is kept shut at all times to prevent your dogs (and children!) escaping and our dogs (and chickens and children!) getting in!

Additional Directions Information

🚗 By Car:

What 3 Words: casual.skewing.rooster

When looking for directions to the property, please ensure you use the postcode: HR1 4JB as there is another property very nearby called 'The Hop Kiln' (no 's') which has caused some confusion in the past - especially with supermarket deliveries.

The Satnav should take you to the end of the drive. If you see a sign for 'Free Town Herefords' with a picture of a bull you are at the right place. Go down the drive all the way to the end and then where it splits follow the signs for 'The Hop Kilns' where you will find a large parking area for approximately 7 cars.

🚆By Train:

Our nearest train stations are either Hereford or Ledbury and from these you can either get a bus, which goes past the end of the lane (it's then about a 10-15 minute walk to The Hop Kilns), or a taxi, although I'm afraid these are few and far between in Ledbury. Please contact us though, as we are more than happy to help where we can.
