Situated within a short stroll from the Kennet and Avon Canal and positioned at the heart of the Vale of Pewsey (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), Willowbank Lodges offers the perfect base to explore the many local ancient sites of historic interest. These include Stonehenge, Avebury Ring and standing stones, the Savernake Forest and the West Kennet Long Barrow. For those looking to visit the local villages and towns, the nearby market towns of Marlborough and Devizes offer a great choice of independent shops, cafes and restaurants to explore. A visit to the nearby City of Salisbury is also a must , with its bustling streets, Cathedral, museum and Old Sarum Hill Fort. For those looking to explore the surrounding countryside on foot, the Jones Mill Nature reserve, Kennet and Avon Canal towpath and Martinsell Hill offer some great scenery and amazing views

Additional Directions Information

From wherever you come you are likely to pass through either Marlborough, Burbage or Pewsey….

From Burbage roundabout exit left onto the B3087 to Pewsey.  Drive through Easton Royal and Milton Lilbourne. Drive past the signpost to New Mill and about half a mile further on, turn right to Milkhouse Water. After about quarter of a mile, go over the railway bridge, down the hill, over another (flat) bridge and almost immediately turn right down unmarked road. Entrance to Willowbank Lodges is about 50m further down on the right hand side. 

From Marlborough take the A345 to Pewsey. After about 6 miles, drive into the village and at the King Alfred statue, turn left into the High Street (B3087) signposted Burbage. Proceed out of the village and up the hill and after about quarter of a mile turn left, signposted to Milkhouse Water. From there follow the above directions.

From Salisbury direction enter Pewsey and turn right at the King Alfred Statue and continue as above.

AIRPORTS (within one and a half hour’s drive): Southampton  (47 miles), Bournemouth (51 miles), Bristol (64 miles), London Heathrow (67 miles)

NEAREST RAILWAY STATIONS: Pewsey station (1.7 miles) Fast service to London Paddington (1hr 10mins) or the West Country.  Ticket office and ticket machine on platform. There is a paying car park
