Award winning Cowden Farmhouse (licensed for 8 guests) and her extensive grounds have been created by me (Liz) to provide fantastic, unforgettable 5 star holidays for family and friend groups. Throughout the colourful and beautifully styled house references to farm life are evident in the cleverly upcycled pieces of décor, whilst creature comforts abound with log burning stoves, squishy sofas and sumptuous textures.
The extensive gardens encompass lawns, decking, wooded areas and 'The Night Garden' which is a private landscaped field. You'll find a gorgeous summer house, fire-pit, bbq, hammocks, tree swings, the very popular Treasure Hunt and a nearby motley crew of pet sheep!

Cowden Farmhouse is located in the heart of our outlying farmland at the end of a private half mile farm road and therefore benefits from the idyllic sights of sheep grazing or the barley swaying sea-like in the wind without the muckheap, sheds or noise (and hazards) of passing machinery! That said, our sheep pens are situated beside Cowden's drive, and with well over a thousand sheep on the farm there's usually something happening for our guests to see if they wish!
Many of our guests barely leave Cowden - their carefully compiled itineraries cast aside in favour of relxing and enjoying the house and grounds, but for those that wish to explore the area, there's no shortage of things to do! Stonehaven is only 7 miles away and is a lovely seaside town with a tremendous selection of independant shops and award winning restaurants & takeaways. It has the UKs most northerly lido - an Olympic sized heated sea-water swimming pool, Dunnottar Castle - one of Scotland's most iconic castles, an incredible cliff top golf course, paddle boarding, boat trips, AND you can even try a deep fried Mars Bar in it's place of origin - The Carron Fish Bar! Beyond Stonehaven but still within easy reach we have beautiful beaches, fantastic hill walking and numerous distilleries. (Aberdeenshire has the highest population of castles and distilleries!) Many of our guests return year after year, and still find new things to do!
