Our two self-catering cottages are in the middle of our 1800 acre working hill farm in Northumberland National Park, located 1.5 miles up our farm drive

Both properties are dog friendly, with a shared, enclosed garden. Grazing for horses is also available and suggested rides can be provided. There's a bike shed with electric charging, workstation, pressure washer and suggested on- and off-road routes.

Each property has its own barbecue, washing machine, TV, well-equipped kitchen, log burner and background central heating.

If you want to leave the idyllic views, sheep, cattle and abundant wildlife behind for the day, Alnwick is only 15 miles away and there are several near-deserted sandy beaches within 20 miles. Within walking distance is Ingram with it's cafe and small museum, plus Linhope Spout, a spectacular waterfall.

A warm welcome awaits you at either The Barn or Cuckoo Cottage, both of which we have lovingly brought back to life, previously having been stables and a cow byre.  Panoramic views abound, cosiness is guaranteed, wildlife is in abundance and peace prevails, apart from the cuckoo!  Once here, we hope that you won’t want to leave.

Once up the track, you are definitely away from it all for a few days or longer.  There is no light pollution as we are within Northumberland International Dark Sky Park, you may even see the Northern Lights.  A Sky Quality Meter reading was taken at the farm on 6th December 2018 measuring 21.024, which makes it one of the darkest locations in Northumberland International Dark Sky Park.  We have provided a set of binoculars for you to look at the stars, a flask to enjoy a hot drink and there is seating outside.

Birdlife is everywhere.  We have ground-nesting owls, curlews, lapwings and cuckoos; the list is endless.  Our hay meadows are well-known for their insect life and a few years ago we received an award for our wide variety of native bees.

The Threestoneburn Standing Stones are within a mile of the accommodation.  There are at least six ancient monuments on the farm – Roman camps, cup and ring marks and so on.

The Dod Barns offers a back to nature experience without roughing it, and a sense of freedom from all the rushing around.

The farm has been owned by the Brown family since 1950, now being run by Robert, the 3rd generation.
