Award winning cottages, surrounded by award winning food, drink, activities and adventures. All this on a working farm! What more could you possibly want? A beach? We have that too!

Andrew and Jane welcome you to their lovely working farm where they have three of the most beautiful cottages, in the most stunning location overlooking Lundy Island and two of the UK’s best beaches, namely Putsborough and Woolacombe. The cottages have all retained many original features that date back to the mid 19th Century with woodburners, oak beams along with some lovely unique quirky bits.

The age of the cottages affords them spacious rooms whilst offering everything todays multi-generational families require to make their holiday very special. They are equipped to a very high standard, with their own private gardens and parking. They also have private access through the fields to the beach, and we give you free parking at Putsborough Beach for the duration of your stay (worth £50).

Whilst staying with us you will experience country and coastal life all in one. The farm extends down to the South West Coast Path and to the fabulous beaches of Putsborough and award winning Woolacombe beach. It has been voted Best Beach in UK 3 times in the last 10 years.

The Cottages:

Pickwell Court is a spacious converted barn sleeping up to 8 people. The Old Coachman's Cottage which backs onto the original stables sleeps 6. The Garden Retreat, our cosy "bolt hole" sleeps 2-4. They are all full of charm with each cottage having it's own beautiful enclosed private garden, with spacious patios, barbecues, garden furniture and court yard.

Making it easy for you......

We automatically make up the beds for you with quality linen,  provide fluffy towels, include electricity and the heating. There is also a dishwasher, washing maching and tumble drier, complementary WiFi, free car parking on-site and at Putsborough Beach (worth over £50) all included in the price when booking with us.

We offer a very special experience for our guests whilst staying on this working farm. Life slows down, you will find less need to be glued to phones and tablets, as you slip back closer to nature.

Georgeham village with two pubs serving delicious food, a shop and post office is 1 mile away, an easy stroll down the county lane.

A perfect location for a North Devon holiday. We look forward to welcoming you to our farm. We live and work on the farm 24/7!! so you can be assured that if you should need us during your stay we are always ready to help.

3/6/ This is our third year at Pickwell Barton Cottage & we have had a fabulous holiday again. The cottage is so lovely with so many extra touches not usually found in self catering rentals. Thank you Jane for the care you lavish on your guest. The scenery in this area is breath taking and with the weather we have had this week, has been idyllic. We had so much fun on the beach, lots of nice outings and our grand children are counting the sleeps until we return next year. Thank you, Jane & Andrew.

24/6/ Biggest, Best, Closest to the sea place we have ever stayed at. 4th time we have stayed in Devon and it’s the best. Will try to come again!

15/7/ What a lovely country holiday home to stay in. Jane & Andrew had thought of and provided everything you could use. Even the weather was kind. A lovely farm and relaxed feeling, what more could we have wanted. Thank you both and thank North Devon for the lovely places to visit.
