Hellens Manor

Much Marcle near Ledbury Just for Two, Historic Britain

Hellens Manor remains a unique family home.  It contains a variety of period furnishings, paintings and decorations dating back to when it was first granted to the de Balun family in 1096. Highlights include haunted rooms prepared for Mary Tudor, the Stone Hall and its fireplace bearing the Black Prince’s crest and paintings by some of the grand masters. There is also the Derby Coach and family carriages to be seen in the Old Cider Mill house.  All is set in beautiful grounds in which there are a large number of contemporary sculptures and an ancient knot garden.

The house closes for the winter at the end of September and opens at Easter Sunday.  It is open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Monday afternoons. Entry is by guided tour and there are tours at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm.

The  Tearoom is open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday afternoons serving tea and coffee, home-made cakes and lunches. A special 'Hellens High Tea' is available on Sunday and can also be available on Wednesday and Thursday but by prior arrangement.
