This traditional stone-built cottage has a spacious layout on two floors. Downstairs there is a large hallway (useful for outdoor gear, fishing tackle etc.), large well-equipped kitchen with dining area, a cosy sitting-room with comfy chairs and sofas (one of which is a sofabed), one double bedroom and a shower-room with basin and toilet. Stairs from the hallway lead to a light and airy landing with two twin-bedded rooms, both of which have original pine panelling. Also upstairs is a bathroom with basin and toilet, airing cupboard and handy drying-room/clothes-hanging area.
At the back of the cottage is a a lobby area with chest deep freeze, washing machine and tumble-dryer, payphone and wi-fi internet access, all of which are for use by anyone staying in the cottage or chalets.
This 3-bedroom chalet has one double bedroom, two twin-bedded rooms, bathroom with shower, basin and toilet, large south-facing open-plan sitting, dining and kitchen area, plus store-room for outdoor/fishing gear off the entrance hallway. Double or triple-glazed throughout.
Birch is situated at the end of the access road therefore providing the most privacy. It also has the best position for bird-watching.
Willow Chalet has 2 bedrooms - one double and one twin. The sitting, dining and kitchen area is spacious with large south-facing windows, comfy chairs and sofabed. Bathroom with basin and toilet. Double-glazed throughout.
This chalet is closest to Cherry Cottage and in an elevated position with open aspects to the south and west, thereby taking advantage of sunny days and long daylight hours in mid-summer.
Rowan chalet also has 2 bedrooms - one double and one twin. The sitting, dining and kitchen area is spacious with large south-facing windows, comfy chairs and sofabed. Bathroom with basin and toilet. Double-glazed throughout.
Rowan and Aspen chalets are side by side, so ideal for 2 families wishing to be together but not in the same building!
Aspen Chalet has the same interior layout as Rowan, comprising 2 bedrooms - one double and one twin. Spacious sitting, dining and kitchen area. Bathroom with basin and toilet. Double-glazing.
Each chalet or cottage has its own wooden picnic table, ample car parking space and they are all surrounded by a large well-kept grassy area in a partially wooded setting to ensure privacy. The chalets have pretty hanging baskets and well-stocked bird feeders to attract the varied birdlife.
Leaving Inverness, take A862 Beauly road, continue for 10 miles.
Cross river Beauly, immediately take A831 Cannich / Struy road.
After 9 miles pass Cnoc Hotel on right, after 200 yards turn right to Glen Strathfarrar.
Continue 1/2 mile, stop at locked gate, ask gatekeeper for keys / access to Culligran Cottages.
Cottages are a further half mile on the right - look for the sign.
